special days

A few weeks ago I decided I needed (or rather my kids needed) to spend time with each of my kids in a one-on-one activity. The main purpose was actually to help my daughter, Kaylee. She is a "middle child" and has been having a hard time being happy. So that's when I decided that "mommy time" was needed. I decided on Fridays. Every Friday after school, I would take one child out to do whatever they wanted. Three weeks ago, Kaylee chose McDonald's. I had a great time. We just sat and ate and talked about what is important to a 6 year old. She didn't even want to play. The next Friday, I took Grant. We went goofy golfing. I tried to get him to make a bet with me on who would win. He wouldn't go for it, though. Good thing, because I
WON! Not by much though. I am actually trying to encourage him to take up golf. Today, I took Kelsey out and we went shopping for makeup and clothes. She is getting prettier and prettier all the time. I actually love taking her shopping for clothes because she looks great in everything! Oh, the good old days when I looked like that too. My kids are growing up so fast and I realize that sometimes I care more about a clean house that taking the time to spend with them. Eventually, I am going to find myself in clean house with no one to pick up after and I don't want regrets. Time goes past and I don't want to miss any of it.
